Born at home in the community of Callands in Pittsylvania County, VA on September 29, 1940 she was a daughter of the late Perry G. and Gladys N. Saunders of Chatham VA. She was the wife of R. Wayne Williams for 51 years and 5 months. In addition to her husband she is survived by her son Edward G. Williams, her two daughters Cordelia G. Williams and Nikki W. Vogt, as well as her beloved cat ""Leo"", all of Lynchburg. Three sisters and their husbands, Patricia S. Tyree (Allen) of Danville VA, Helen S. Mayhew of Chatham VA, and Jill S. Henderson (Don) of Birmingham AL. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by four sisters, Nikki S. Wilson, Johnnie S. Reynolds, Jacqueline S. Winn, Perry Anne S. Gibson, and two brothers, Perry G. Saunders, Jr., and Michael R. Saunders. Bobby was a well known and respected legal secretary/paralegal for many years, having worked with the following firms; Kizer, Phillips and Petty, Joseph R. Johnson, and Hugh J. M. Jones, III. While employed by Kizer, Phillips and Petty she worked with attorneys J. Leyburn Mosby, Jr. and Samuel Johnston who later became Circuit Court judges. She retired in 2006 from Hugh J. M. Jones, III after twenty-three years. Most importantly, she was a Mother first, a wife second, a great homemaker, cook, and poet. Her self published book of poems, ""Whittles"", brings smiles, tears, laughter, and memories of the writer's childhood and life to mind. Many of her poems had a religious theme, because she loved the Lord with all her heart, soul and body. Her belief and love for Jesus and his message was unsurpassed. She was a member of College Hill Baptist Church for many years and most recently of West Lynchburg Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at West Lynchburg Baptist Church, on Thursday, August 18, at 7:00 PM. By the Rev. Dr. Robert Putt and the Rev. Andy Grose. A Family visitation will follow the service. The family would like to thank all of her many Doctors, the UVA Dialysis Center employees, and Centra Health employees who gave of themselves to extend and enrich her life over the years, as well as, those in the Centra Health Skilled Care Unit at Virginia Baptist Hospital whose hospice services strove to provide her care and comfort. A special group of friends Pat and Sylvia Knowles, John and Deda Bohannon, Tommy and Lavern Wright, David and Betty Cundiff, and Mary East for their love and support during her years of sickness. She loved all animals and could only see the good in each of them, regardless of how ferocious they may be. It was Bobby's wish that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her honor to The Lynchburg Humane Society, 3305 Naval Reserve Road, Lynchburg, Va. 24501.
